Tom Keehan joined Younglove & Coker in 2012 after moving to Olympia from Montesano, where he was a founding partner of Hatch & Keehan, P.S. Tom is primarily devoted to criminal trial advocacy, focusing on alcohol related traffic crimes, serious violent felonies, sex offenses, and juveniles charged with crimes.

Tom is a skilled trial litigator and has applied his legal research, writing, and courtroom skills to win not guilty verdicts and pretrial dismissals in a wide variety of cases, including:

Tom earned his J.D. in 2004 from the University of Wisconsin School of Law and moved to Washington shortly after graduation to open his first law firm, Keehan Law Office, in Westport, Washington. Throughout his career, Tom’s reputation for compassionate, nonjudgmental, common sense approaches to complex problems has earned him the respect and referrals from his clients, while his hard work, thorough preparation, and aggressive negotiating and trial advocacy has earned him the trust and respect of prosecutors and judges. Whether justice for the client requires acquittal from a jury of 12 or negotiating a return to a client’s job, Tom will listen to his client’s needs and concerns and chart a path to success.

Tom is an active member of the legal community, maintaining memberships in the Thurston County and Grays Harbor County Bar Associations. Tom has served as vice-president and president of the Grays Harbor County Bar Association and was the first and only defense attorney serving pro bono for three years on the Pacific County Drug Court. Since 2004, Tom has also been a committed member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and utilizes WACDL’s member resources to keep current with the latest developments in the rapidly evolving field of criminal defense.

Prior to law school, Tom graduated with a BA in Philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When Tom is not in the court room or his office, he can be found sailing the Puget Sound with his wife or his sailboat racing team.
